- What age group can join?
All student in grades 1-8 (or equivalent homeschool ages) are welcome to join our team. If your student falls outside of the grade range, feel free to contact us using our contact form to let us know the details so we can determine if an exception can be made.
- Where is the team located?
The team is comprised of athletes from around Bellevue, Washington. Most students come from the Bellevue School District area, yet we happily accept athletes from surrounding areas and homeschoolers.
- When will cheer practices start?
Cheer camp runs Wednesday, August 24th through Wednesday, August 31st, 2022 for 2 hours a day in the afternoon. Camp is where cheerleaders learn most of our cheers and a dance routine that will be performed on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022. From there, practices are held two days a week for 1 to 1.5 hours from September through the first week of November (during the football season). During these practices, we learn more cheers and new dance routines for Saturday performances.
- Where will cheer practices be held?
Practices are held in Issaquah just off exit # 15.
- Is attending cheer camp required to join Bellevue Junior Cheer?
Yes. Many of our cheers and our first performance are learned during cheer camp in late August so attendance is required in order to be considered to be selected for the Bellevue Junior Cheer team.
- What is the time commitment?
In August, cheer camp runs Wednesday, August 24th through Wednesday, August 31st, 2022 (6 sessions) for 2 hours a day in the afternoon. In September through early November, cheer practices are twice a week for 1-1.5 hours each time. Since new Saturday performances are learned during these practice times, your cheerleader will need to attend practices to learn the dance and be able to perform.
- Where are Saturday games?
Home football games are held at the field at Sammamish High School. The locations of away games are determined closer to the start of football season and schedule changes happen during the season. This site is updated as information is provided.
- Are uniforms provided?
Uniforms and gear are provided at no cost to families.
- What fees are associated with the program?
The fee for the August 24-28 cheer camp is $__. The fee to participate in the Bellevue Junior Cheer program from September through early November is $__. The uniforms and gear are owned by Bellevue Junior Cheer and are lent to you for the season at no additional cost to you.
- Are financial scholarships available?
Absolutely! Our aim is to facilitate and support every student who would like to join our team. The fees (described above) can be halved or waived. Please apply for the team here and add a comment at the bottom of the form requesting that the fee be halved or waived.
- Do families carpool to and from practices and games?
In the past, many families have carpooled to and from games and practices. Arrangements are made by individual families.
